This Week’s Big Takeaway: Job Search (Finally) Made as Easy as 1-2-3 

This week’s call was all about turning Upwork job hunting from “Where do I even start?” into a simple, repeatable system you can run in minutes.

1. Let AI build your job-finding engine.

We walked through how to paste your full Upwork overview into ChatGPT and ask for high-impact search terms—then narrow a long list (60–70+ ideas) down to the best 20 or so. 

Those become your “power terms” for daily searches, especially when they connect your domain expertise (healthcare, education, finance, etc.) to roles like writer, project manager, VA, or consultant.

2. Use filters + bookmarks as your anti-depression tools.

Instead of scrolling through 400+ random posts, you set filters like:

• Price band (e.g., <$100 to start)

• Payment verified

• 10+ prior hires

• Shorter duration (under 1–3 months)

Then you save the entire filtered URL as a browser bookmark inside a “My Upwork Job Searches” folder. 

Each morning, you just click a bookmark and see a tight, relevant list of jobs you can look through—no re-building filters, no job-search fatigue.

3. Follow the “step-up” strategy, not the $3,000 leap.

After you earn your Job Success Score, don’t jump straight to $3K–$5K projects. Step up gradually: starter jobs → $100–$500 domain jobs → $500–$1,000+ → premium projects.
That path builds a portfolio of 5-star, in-your-lane wins that make bigger clients confident saying yes.
